Hawaii, the pacific island paradise, consists of hundreds of little islands. Eight of them are as big that they comprise cities, highways, national parks and of course endless white beaches. The archipelago of Hawaii is situated south of Alaska and north of Tahiti. The distance to the coast of North America is almost 4.000 Kilometres. That’s why Hawaii can only be visited by plain or by boat. The traffic between the islands, spread over an area of nearly 28.000 square kilometres, runs by plains, ferries and fast catamarans. All beaches of Hawaii are open to the public, no matter if the belong to hotels or private houses. One of the most popular beaches of Hawaii is of course the beach Waikiki next to Honolulu.
Honolulu is the capital of Hawaii and is located on the island O’ahu. This is an island in the north of the chain of the main islands which courses from south east to north west. Most of the visitors of Hawaii are arriving at Honolulu international airport. The modern and hectic city of Honolulu has 400.000 inhabitants. This is the half of the whole population of O’ahu. But on the beach of Waikiki, to reach in 20 Minutes by car, you instantly forget stress and noise. Despite of the tropical climate on Hawaii, temperatures are not as extreme high as in other tropical locales. The reason is the constant wind, blowing from east. That’s why Waikiki beach is a good place for wind surfing. When you are tired of surfing, you can watch for the hula girls or enjoy a lomi lomi massage.

Another impressing place is the Haleakala National Park on the island Maui. Haleakala is an inactive volcano with an about 45 kilometres wide crater.
